In math education, students are not taught the strategies to tackle math in a systematic way. A-ha Tutoring Services uses easy-to-understand concepts to build up students' math acumen. I also apply a student-centered approach to give them the strategies they need and the confidence to approach problems with a positive mindset.
I teach all appointments myself, so there will be no surprise tutors who might be poor communicators or inexperienced at teaching. I offer consistency, and I believe that tutors are mentors as well as teachers. The student-mentor relationship is important to me, and a crucial aspect of learning.
Especially in math, it is important to enforce skills and learned strategies over a period of time. Though I offer intervention sessions, I think that continuing sessions are crucial for the student's long-term comprehension.
